Welcome

The Wellington Chess Club meets every Thursday evening (excluding January) from 7:30pm at the Wellington Bridge Club, 17 Tinakori Road Thorndon (see map below). Please note that play is suspended during Covid-19 alert level 2 or higher (we meet online only when normal play is suspended).

Please don't park at the Bridge Club, there's plenty of parking on Thorndon Quay (under the motorway) just a short walk away.

What's Hot Right Now

The Club Rapid Champs finish on May 12th, and we get right into the Autumn Cup from May 19th The Autumn Cup is rated round robin groups of 6. You play everyone else in your group, who should be roughly the same level as yourself. This will run from 19th May to 16th June (5 games, 5 weeks) with 23rd June reserved for catch up games. Time control is 75 mins each plus 30 seconds added per move. Note - masks still mandated. Please let Ian know as soon as possible if you want to play. Don't leave it too late - since it's rated Ian can't just slot you into a group as it will mess up all the groups below. Latecomers will go into a separate Swiss tournament.
